Wallet

Wallet for MacWallet for iOSIt can be a tough job trying to remember all of the different passwords you need nowdays. You should be using a different password for every site, especially one that has your credit card or banking info, because if one of those sites gets hacked, you don't want to have to change your password on every site because it uses the same password (like I had to). That is why Wallet is an indispensable tool for me.

Wallet is an app for all of your devices, Mac and iOS, that helps you keep track of all your passwords and important, yet sensitive information. You don't want to store these in an text file or notepad app on your iPhone, because those will not protect it if your iPhone falls in to the wrong hands. One password unlocks the app and grants access to all your other info. I use it to store social security numbers (my wife's and daughter's), credit card numbers, client login and website information, and passwords for the million of different websites and services I need to login to.

Wallet is very customizable. You can create a group of records - I have a group for each client, for instance - and have as many records in each group that are sorted alphabetically. When you create the group you have the ability to customize what data the records of that group default to, but you can always add fields to it later. This makes it very flexible at any point you're using it. You can even attach files to a record, although to be honest, I don't use this feature much.

The other great thing about Wallet is it works exactly the same whether I'm using it on my iMac, the MacBook Pro, my iPhone, or iPad. It's handiest on my iPhone though, because I always have that with me, so if a client can't remember how to get in to an email account, I can pull that info up in a matter of seconds and let them know. Wallet also syncs across all of those devices, so I always have the latest data no matter what device I'm on.

Wallet is one of those apps that I have no idea how I ever got by without it.

Wallet is available for iOS for $9.99 (it's a universal app which means it works on iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch with single purchase) and for the Mac for $19.99.
