Florida Vacation
Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 9:26AM Our recent Florida vacation was pretty fun. I have never had any desire to go to Florida, so truth be told, I wasn't thrilled with the thought. It went better than I had expected, and I had quite a bit of fun. A few notes:
- it's hot in Florida. No, I mean REALLY REALLY hot. It was pretty much miserable from the time we stepped outside in the morning until we stepped inside at night. The only time I wasn't hot when I was outside, was standing outside in a thunderstorm at Disney World trying to hold our spot on Main Street for the parade. I was soaked, but I wasn't hot!
- geckos run around there like we have crickets here, except they are really fast. Neat to see.
- Florida water smells like toilet water. Tastes like it too, or at least what I imagine toilet water tastes like. It's no wonder they give away cups of ice water at the parks for free. It's worth the $2.50 to buy a bottle of water if you have any respect for your tastebuds at all.
- Adults act like children, or worse, even at places like Disney World and Sea World. You would think they would try setting a good example for all the kids around them.
- I probably enjoyed SeaWorld the most of the parks we went to. Mostly because I got to ride on their new roller coaster, the Manta. First time I've been on a roller coaster in a long time. It was a blast!
I'll have a few pictures posted here from our trip, but most of them will be over at our family website, the Chinn's of IN.
