New iPad Wallpapers & Template

Today I posted a new set of iPad wallpaper images and an update to my iPad Wallpaper Photoshop Template. First the new wallpapers...

New iPad Wallpaper ImagesiPad Wallpapers - This new set consists of two version of each photo - one normal, sharp version and one blurred version for use on the iPad home screen that makes viewing the app icons easier, as well as creating a sense of depth. Unlike my first set of iPad wallpaper, I was able to test these on an iPad before posting (more on that soon). During that testing, I noticed that the images were a little dark. In order to see them correctly, I had to crank up the iPad screen brightness to 100%. I like mine at 50%, as that is plenty bright in most situations, without needlessly draining the battery. The images have been modified to compensate for that screen brightness. They still look good at 100% brightness, but are optimal at 50%. The photos were taken at Glacier National Park during my trip there at the beginning of August and include Grinnell Lake, a shot of the valley from Going-to-the-Sun Road, Angel Wing (in which you can see Gem Glacier and part of Grinnell Glacier).

Updated iPad Wallpaper Photoshop Template - If you would like to create your own iPad wallpapers, you can download this Photoshop (CS3, but should be okay with newer versions) template to help you out. This updated version includes a levels adjustment layer for optimizing your images for the iPad screen brightness set to 50%, as discussed above. There is also a note/recommendation in the form of a layer for blurring your images for the home screen wallpaper if you so desire. The final update was increasing the resolution to 132 pixels per inch to match the iPad display.
