Four - Cobalt Lake
Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 8:18AM We took our annual trip to Montana this year in August. We had great weather and went on several long hikes, including one that ended at Cobalt Lake, as seen in the photo above. This is a HDR panorama created from 42 photos. The HDR process for each pan position consists of 7 photos (+3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3 exposure compensation) and I shot six different pan positions. I created HDR photos for each pan position first using Nik's HDR Efex Pro plugin in Aperture. I then stitched these 6 photos together using Hugin. The resultant image was then imported in to Aperture for some final processing.
I love shooting panos at Glacier National Park - I feel that perspective makes for a more appropriate image of the vast and beautiful landscapes found there.
