A Little Quiet Around Here
Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10:31PM Yep, I haven't been very active here on my blog the last month, but it definitely is not due to nothing going on. It's been a pretty busy past month. Here's a quick run-down:
- I attended the Chicago Bears training camp with my brothers Patrick and Zach
- My daughter's first day of fifth grade (she can't be that old already, can she?!)
- Apple released Final Cut Studio 3. I had to get up to speed on the new release rather quickly in order to show what had changed at my Final Cut Pro User Group meeting on August 25th
- I had 3 video shoots (which resulted in 3 DVDs and 2 web videos) and a photography session (where 30 people went home with a 8" x 10" group photo a few hours later)
- Did some testing on a Canon 5D Mark II DSLR camera for it's video functionality
- Trips to two different doctors on the same day for three different things
- Presented Final Cut Studio 3 (well, half of it anyways) at the Indiana Filmmakers Network meeting
- Worked on a logo design for a local company
- Made at least 30 trips to Indy for a variety of reasons
- Updated my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard
- Put up with my PowerMac G5 crashing randomly and often
- Finally diagnosed the PowerMac G5 problem as faulty RAM (replacements on the way)
- Bought 5 pairs of shoes from Zappos.com (and sent 4 pairs back... but I'll probably never buy shoes from a local store again because Zappos makes it so easy)
- and somewhere in there I turned 38.
Whew! And it doesn't slow down. I've got a couple web sites to update, a couple to design, a logo to finish, some product photography to shoot, and a couple personal projects I hope to push along if not finish the next few weeks.
I'll have several slower-than-real-time posts coming up journal-style in about two weeks time, and a lot of photos to go with them. Stay tuned...
