I took a series of photos from the top of Swiftcurrent Lookout in Glacier National Park and stitched them together to create one large panoramic. I then split that in to two images, one for your left monitor and one for your right monitor. They don't cover the full width of the pano, but the most interesting part. Each image is sized at 2560 x 1600, so they'll work even if you have two 30" monitors.

Photoshop CS3 file with Guides and Layers to make laying out iPad wallpapers a little easier. Includes a Portrait layer and Landscape layer that you can toggle on/off to see how your image will look when used as wallpaper on the iPad. Just remember to turn off both of those layers before saving your file as a jpg or png. Final file will be 1024 x 1024. UPDATED 10-1-2010: increased the resolution to 132 ppi and added a levels adjustment layer to compensate for iPad screen brightness set to 50%. Added a note/recommendation for creating blurred backgrounds for home screen.

A set of four different images optimized for use as wallpaper on the iPad. For each photo there is a blurred version for use on the home screen. These have been optimized so they will look correct if your iPad screen brightness is set to 50%, but look good at other brightness levels as well.
