I am a freelance digital media creator based near Indianapolis, Indiana. I started down the career path as a mechanical engineer with a B.S. from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I’ve always been an Apple/Mac user, which led to my interest in the digital video revolution in the mid 90’s. I taught myself Final Cut Pro and the other applications needed to complete video projects. My career aspirations started shifting from machine design to digital media in 2000, as I started to tackle video projects for friends and work. My CAD and 3D design background in engineering led to a successful crossover to 3D animation and rendering as I completed several projects for a previous employer. Due to client requests, I have also added web design and photography to my stable of skills. I've really caught the photography bug since then and have worked hard to become a better photographer. Skills that I have learned from photography have carried over in to my other work and have made an impact in everything I do.
In 2003, I started the Final Cut Pro Users Group in Indianapolis in hopes of bringing together others with my enthusiasm for digital media creation. The group currently is made up of over 150 members, from hobbyists to professionals and studio owners. I have been a member of the Killbuck Photo Guild for the past two years and a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals for the past eight years.
I believe in the sharing of knowledge for the betterment of the population, and it is with that attitude that I continue to run the user group and devote a large amount of time to make sure there is a place for people in central Indiana to learn more about digital media. For those individuals or groups that need a more focused program, I offer training and consulting to get them up to speed quickly using Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, and the Macintosh operating system and computers or by solving the problems and issues that keep them from completing projects and making money. Individuals from hobbyists to professional shooters and groups such as Park Tudor school district, St. Franics Hospital, and Chicago Tribune-owned FOX59 have hired me to help them get a handle on Final Cut Pro and get them editing their video projects successfully.
